This was my least favourite dress I pattern cut for Marios Schwab and I nicknamed it the Fru Fru Dress.

The rodin satin and twill dress which Marios loved, to me is a statement dress. I think Net-a-Porter is right in describing it as a “traffic stopping style”. It is distinctive enough for the individualist but sophisticated enough to strike an elegant tone.

The actual pattern was not complicated, it was mainly getting the proportion of the gathers and the fullness right. I do like the idea of the fitted with fluid coming over it as it gives the dress a nice dimension.

Retailing at  £1,685, at Browns.
